BOATING AND PADDLER REGULATIONS:

To help keep everyone up to date on the rules and regulations of enjoying Big Blue, the Tahoe Regional Planning Agency recently released a free app that includes interactive maps for boaters and paddlers. The free Tahoe Boating app is available from online application stores or at the TRPA’s website.

FISHING IN LAKE TAHOE:

Fishing in Lake Tahoe is legal one hour before sunrise to two hours after sunset.  Fishing licenses are required for any person over the age of 16 and can be obtained from local sporting goods stores.  Failure to obtain a fishing license or to follow rules and regulations can result in stiff fines.  Some of the basic rules are provided here.

The wind can be quite gusty and cause unsafe boating conditions, so know the weather before you set out. Current weather information is available from the National Weather Service.
